Photo of the Day
Elsie, peeping through the flowers!
(View from the Kitchen Patio door...awaiting fixing!)

Rainbow Treasure

I have found the treasure
That lies at the Rainbow's end;

Wealth beyond computing

Is mine to give or lend.
Opals of an April dawn,
Gold of a shimmering noon,

Amethysts of the sunset,
Pearls with the glow of the moon.
Would you like to share it?

There's more than enough for all

In my Iris Garden
Against a grey stone wall.

-AGNES HAYES POST

I laughed when I caught sight of Elsie hiding behind the container!
Do you know what the green container is?
It's an old washing machine drum. I saw it at the tip a few years ago.
It needs a coat of paint and is in deed on my list of jobs over the next few weeks.

I am quite pleased with the weekend jobs done.

Jon spent all Saturday working on the porch door.........

As you can see, still not fixed.
It is all so very complicated.
Jon made a new mechanism ( sorry for blurred picture....still learning new camera!) but it would seem there are further problems with other parts of the door fitting.

The porch door remains locked but will be sorted , it has to be because the cooker is being delivered on May 2nd, Friday of this week.

The weather has been pretty wet over the weekend so we didn't get out on the motorbike.
Yesterday, Sunday I planted up some more succulants into the dry stone wall and also planted some seeds here and there......I will show you these in due course when there is something to show.
I have found it quite exciting to see the tulips emerge and pop their heads through the varios beds and shrubberies, but my favourite part of the garden has to be the wall....well for the moment anyway. The rain was drizzling off and on yesterday so it seemed an ideal time to plant in some new alpines.
No sooner had I finished the drizzle turned into a full blown shower, which lasted for a couple of hours. Last night we had thunder and lightning, so I was pleased that the new alpines, succulants and seeds would have a good dose of moisture to help them start their new journey.

I would like to thank everybody for the lovely comments I received last week on my post
Going Down!

David awarded me joint winner in Post of the Day, I was really chuffed. Thanks David, what an honour.

He has set another task this week.....

so I am off to have a think!
I know the answer, just need to sort out the sentences!
Watch this space!

Elsie seems to have hidden tendencies! - love the green containmer. We moved house a year ago and haven't yet accumulated such items for creative use but we will. Thanks for popping by my blog.

What a creative use for an old wash tub! I don't know, though, about painting it... it has a certain charm just how it is, I think :-)

If you paint it it may never grow another pup ;-)

I love your washing machine drum, and the colour that it has turned is wonderful - I never would have guessed its origins. The expression on your dogs face is priceless as well!

Of course you can add me to your blog roll - what an honour!
